Victim identified in fatal I-787 wrong-way crash

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — New York State Police have identified the victim of a fatal wrong-way crash on I-787 in Albany on Sunday. No charges or arrests have been reported as of Monday afternoon.

The head-on crash occurred just after 4:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes near exit 2. State Police said the northbound driver — identified as Eric Hurley, 38, of Albany — had severe injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

The wrong-way driver was taken to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. They reportedly remain hospitalized as of Monday, according to State Police.

An investigation remains ongoing. State Police also arrested an Albany woman on Monday for a separate crash that occurred on I-787 on Sunday, killing two people.
