Upgraded Pro Display XDR with webcam hinted at in macOS 26.1 beta 3

Apple could finally be nearing an update to its 2019 Pro Display XDR, and while rumors are basically non-existent, new code in macOS Tahoe suggests a built-in webcam could be coming.

Apple could finally update the Pro Display XDR

Apple released the $5,000 Pro Display XDR in 2019 and hasn’t touched it since. The Studio Display came along in the meantime as a much more affordable option.

However, there has been little evidence of another Pro Display XDR in the pipeline since 2022. A code delve on Monday is the latest small morsel in a quiet rumor environment supporting a refresh.
