Vallejo police K9 retires after years of service

(KRON) — Vallejo Police Department K9 “Otis” has retired after seven years of service, the department announced Thursday.

“Partnered with officer McKenna, Otis quickly became a trusted member of both the patrol and SWAT teams, demonstrating courage, precision, and loyalty in every mission,” Vallejo PD wrote on social media. “Throughout his career, Otis helped bring countless cases to a close, with an impressive record that speaks for itself.”

Otis helped officers catch 15 suspects, make 150 arrests and seize 30 guns during his career.

“He has earned every moment of rest and reward that comes with a job well done,” Vallejo PD said. “Please join us in congratulating Otis on his well-deserved retirement and thanking him for his years of loyal service to our community.”
