Officials break ground on Albany Capital Center expansion

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The groundbreaking of the Albany Capital Center expansion project was unveiled on Thursday. This groundbreaking was supported by a $10 million investment from the state through the Empire State Development and the Capital Region Economic Development Council.

The ACC, located at 126 State Street in Albany, is expanding meeting and event space to meet industry demand. There will be five new meeting rooms, a large multi-purpose room, a new ballroom, a pre-function area on the first floor, and a 3,000-square-foot courtyard for outdoor events.

These improvements will increase the ACC to be 84,000 square feet. Since its derivation, the ACC has hosted over 1,200 events with over 660,000 visitors while generating $100 million in new visitor spending and adding more than 138,000 hotel room night stays in the Capital Region.
