Navy Pier Marina will require fishing passes

There will be fishing passes this winter at Navy Pier Marina.

“Fishing from Navy Pier adjacent to the marina will also be allowed, but we understand this may not be ideal,” emailed Randy Podolsky, founder and developer of NPM. “Therefore, the marina will offer a Marina Fishing Pass for anglers in the offseason.”

That will be impacted by pier work.

“This offseason we need to install plumbing fittings along our entire main (margin) pier, which will require opening up the margin dock every 40 feet — so access to specific dock areas may change or be limited from time-to-time to assure the work area(s) remain safe,” he added.

The Marina Fishing Pass will be good Nov. 21 to Feb. 28, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be $20 seasonal fee and a signed waiver will be required.

Sign-up will be available on https://navypiermarina.com/ no later than Nov. 10. “A personal access code will be provided to each authorized Fishing Pass holder.”

Otherwise, to the east and west of the marina is open and Navy Pier’s early parking deal for anglers continues.

“We look forward to a successful fishing season,” Podolsky said.
