
Residents of Bagley are debating disbanding their police department, MPR News reports. The town of nearly 1,300 in Clearwater County allocates around a third of its annual budget to the police department. City officials are “considering contracting with Clearwater County for law enforcement services instead.”
It turns out that all of those potentially erroneous DWI breath tests were accurate. According to Bring Me The News, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has found that all of the 276 tests that were potentially impacted by data entry errors were, in fact, correct.
After a smokey summer has wildfires on many people’s minds, researchers from the University of Minnesota are launching smoke-sensing drones that use “artificial intelligence to detect and track wildfires,” according to the Minnesota Star Tribune. The drones analyze smoke patterns to better understand how the fires behave and how to better prevent them from spreading.
