SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A storm wielding strong southernly wind gusts is set to continue through Wednesday afternoon in the San Francisco Bay Area.
KRON4 Meteorologist Lawrence Karnow said, “It is going to be extremely windy across the Golden Gate Bridge in that early morning commute. Maybe some 40-60 mile-per-hour gusts right across the bridge.”
Between 1-2 inches of rain will fall in the North Bay. “Rain totals elsewhere will be less impressive, generally less than an inch,” the National Weather Service wrote. There is a slight chance for isolated thunderstorms forming in the North Bay, Bay Area, and parts of the Central Coast, forecasters said.
A long period northwesterly swell, combined with a supermoon, will cause higher-than-usual ocean tides and minor coastal flooding this week, according to NWS.
