The Green Bay Packers got another win in Week 7.
Even so, fans were left with a bittersweet taste.
Notably, that was also the case for some of the players.
Following the narrow victory against the Arizona Cardinals, defensive back Xavier McKinney sent a clear message to his teammates.
“It shouldn’t even come down to the fourth quarter. I think we have a better team, and I don’t think we played really up to our standard as much. We’ll get back to the film room and find ways to be better, but we for d*** sure can’t do this against good teams, because it’s not going to work. I think the guys know that. Yeah, we’re happy about the win, but we’ve got to be a lot better,” McKinney said.
Xavier McKinney is getting tired of #Packers sweating out close victories. He thinks they capable of more, and he made that clear at his locker after.

All that really matters is that the Packers managed to pull it off.
Also, close wins can help develop character, and the Packers should be proud of the way they rallied with one another to get the job done.
The fact that it had to go down to the wire was disappointing nonetheless.
The Packers entered the season with sky-high aspirations, with some players even talking about going undefeated after winning the first two games.
Recent games have been humbling, and they have yet to look as dominant as they did in the season opener against the Detroit Lions.
That also applies to McKinney, who was one of the best defensive backs in football last season but hasn’t been as productive in 2025.
The Packers will be wise to get some help in the secondary by trading for another cornerback before the upcoming NFL deadline.
They have almost everything they need to win the Super Bowl, but they need to tweak some things before this chance passes them by.
